Admix?
BUILD FIRST
- One specific customer type and one primary use case
- A vertical slice that completes the main job without manual workarounds
- Visible limits, review steps, and a fallback when an external dependency fails
LEAVE FOR LATER
- Broad third-party integrations
- High-scale collaboration, syncing, and permissions
- Automation that can cause harm without human review
RESEARCH NOTES
What this tool actually does.
Admix (admix.software) is a paid AI-assistant aggregator offering one subscription (from $10/month) to chat with many frontier models — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok, Kimi and others, marketed as 60–100+ models — instead of separate subscriptions. Its core workflow is multi-model prompting: a single prompt is routed to several models at once and answers are displayed side by side, which the marketing frames as picking the best response, finding AI consensus, and cross-checking hallucinations. Users can switch models mid-conversation and re-route the same question to multiple providers. Admix also ships a Chrome extension with three features: an AI Playground that compares up to six models from a library of 20+, an AI Copilot that injects a chosen model into any text box on the web, and an AI Side Panel giving model access without leaving the current tab. RESEARCHED BUILD PROMPT
Give this to your coding agent.
Build 'PromptPlex' (working name), a web app that reproduces the Admix workflow: one prompt, multiple LLM providers, side-by-side comparison. Workflow: the user composes a prompt, selects 2–6 models from a provider-grouped picker, and sends it; each model streams its answer into its own column with per-column status (loading/streaming/done/error), latency, and token usage; the user can pin a favorite answer, copy one, or send follow-up replies that continue a per-model conversation thread on that column only. User-facing requirements: a compare grid with a sticky prompt header, a /diff view that highlights exact text differences between two columns, saved conversation history, and export-to-Markdown. Technical requirements: Node/TypeScript backend with a provider-adapter layer (one interface wrapping per-provider SDKs for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, xAI, DeepSeek, Mistral, plus local Ollama), streaming via SSE, React frontend with virtualized columns for long outputs, PostgreSQL for history (SQLite fallback), env-driven API keys, and a per-provider rate-limit/cost-estimation table. Choose this stack for its mature streaming and model tooling. Explicitly do not copy the original brand, trademarks, proprietary assets, or UI of Admix; use an original name, layout, and visual design. Out of scope: browser extensions, billing/subscriptions, mobile apps, and a model marketplace. Deliver a README covering setup, provider key configuration, streaming caveats, known limitations (tool calling, context windows, provider outage behavior), and a note that this is an independent reimplementation, not affiliated with Admix.
