CAN I VIBECODE

Firebase Blaze?

NOT REALLYA prototype of the interface is possible, but the durable product depends on difficult systems beyond the UI. Build a safer adjacent workflow instead.

BUILD FIRST

  1. A non-sensitive or read-only version of the core experience
  2. A manual review step wherever correctness or trust matters
  3. A narrow companion tool that removes a real piece of work

LEAVE FOR LATER

  1. Regulated decisions, payments, or irreversible actions
  2. Claims of correctness, compliance, or uptime that the MVP cannot support
  3. Sensitive integrations until security, support, and auditability are ready

RESEARCH NOTES

What this tool actually does.

Checked 2026-09-06

Firebase Blaze is not a hosting product; it is the pay-as-you-go pricing plan for Google's Firebase app development platform. Firebase offers two plans: the no-cost Spark plan and the pay-as-you-go Blaze plan. A Firebase project on Blaze has a Google Cloud Billing account linked to it, which requires a payment method. Blaze includes full access to no-cost Firebase products, no-cost usage quotas for paid products (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Hosting), pay-as-you-go pricing for usage beyond those quotas, a no-cost quota for Cloud Functions followed by pay-as-you-go pricing, and access to paid Google Cloud products (Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, BigQuery streaming). Users only pay for resources actually consumed beyond quotas, which is why it is called pay-as-you-go. New users may be eligible for a $300 Google Cloud free trial credit, and multiple Firebase projects can be linked to a single Cloud

RESEARCHED BUILD PROMPT

Give this to your coding agent.

Build 'BlazePlan', a web app that recreates the workflow of Firebase's Blaze pay-as-you-go plan without copying Google's brand, UI, or assets. Workflow: a developer selects a project, sees current usage against no-cost quotas for services (Firestore, Storage, Hosting, Cloud Functions), simulates upgrading from a free tier to a pay-as-you-go plan by linking a billing account (mocked), and estimates monthly cost from projected usage. User-facing requirements: a plan comparison view (free vs pay-as-you-go), per-service quota meters, usage sliders with live cost estimates, an upgrade wizard with mock billing-account linking, and a cost breakdown table. Technical requirements: React + TypeScript front end, a small Node/Express API serving service quotas and per-unit prices from a JSON config, client-side cost calculation, and localStorage persistence for project state. Implementation: Vite for scaffolding, Tailwind for styling, and a single REST endpoint for pricing data. Do not copy Firebase branding, the firebase.google.com UI, or any Google assets; use original naming and design. Out of scope: real billing integration, authentication, multi-user collaboration, and actual Firebase/Google Cloud APIs. Include a README covering setup, how pricing data is configured, and limitations (estimates only, mock billing).
