CAN I VIBECODE

Photopea Premium?

YESA focused first version is a sensible AI-assisted build. Keep the first release narrow and polish the workflow people repeat.

BUILD FIRST

  1. One defined user and a repeatable end-to-end job
  2. A small, clear data model with sign-in only if it is genuinely needed
  3. Loading, empty, error, and success states that make the workflow feel complete

LEAVE FOR LATER

  1. Large integration marketplaces
  2. Multi-region scale and enterprise administration
  3. Every power-user setting from the established product

RESEARCH NOTES

What this tool actually does.

Checked 2026-09-06

Photopea is a free, browser-based photo editor that runs entirely on the user's device (no uploads) and is designed as a Photoshop alternative. It fully supports the PSD format (open and save) and opens 40+ formats including PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, WEBP, SVG, PDF, AI, AVIF, DDS, HEIC, TIFF, MP4, TGA, CDR, PDN, EPS, INDD, and Figma. It handles RAW files (DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RW2, RAF, ORF, FFF) with exposure/color-balance/contrast adjustments. Editing features include layers, masks, layer styles, smart objects, adjustment layers, channels, paths, vector graphics, Levels/Curves, Gaussian Blur, Liquify, and Puppet Warp. AI features (background removal, image replacement, text-based generation via Stable Diffusion) are provided by external services. Photopea Premium is a voluntary $5/month subscription that adds no extra features but removes ads, makes the editor full-width, raises PeaDrive

RESEARCHED BUILD PROMPT

Give this to your coding agent.

Build a browser-based, client-side photo editor inspired by the workflow of Photopea Premium (the $5/month tier of Photopea). The core workflow: a user opens an image file (or pastes from clipboard) and edits it entirely in the browser with no server uploads, using layers, masks, adjustment layers, and filters, then exports to PSD/PNG/JPG. Implement a layer panel with add/duplicate/delete/reorder and per-layer visibility and opacity; a tools sidebar (move, crop, brush, eraser, eyedropper, text, selection); adjustment layers for Levels, Curves, and Brightness/Contrast; and filters such as Gaussian Blur and Sharpen. Support opening PSD, PNG, JPG, and SVG, and exporting to PSD and PNG. Use HTML5 Canvas for rendering and a client-side PSD parser/writer library (e.g., ag-psd) for PSD read/write; keep all processing in JavaScript with no backend. Add a 'Premium' toggle that is purely cosmetic/support-oriented: it removes a simulated ad banner, enables full-width layout, doubles the undo history limit, and shows a 'supporter' badge — explicitly no hidden feature gating, mirroring Photopea's model where Premium adds no real features. Do NOT copy Photopea's brand, logo, color scheme, UI layout, or proprietary assets; use an original name and neutral styling. Out of scope: real AI generation/background removal, cloud storage, multi-user accounts, RAW camera format decoding, and self-hosting billing. Include a README with setup (serve the static folder, e.g. `python -m http.server`), architecture notes, and important limitations (PSD support is partial, large files may be slow, no undo across sessions, browser-only).
