CAN I VIBECODE

Proofling?

KINDAYou can build the valuable core, but the established product has meaningful operational complexity. Pick one narrow promise for v1.

BUILD FIRST

  1. One specific customer type and one primary use case
  2. A vertical slice that completes the main job without manual workarounds
  3. Visible limits, review steps, and a fallback when an external dependency fails

LEAVE FOR LATER

  1. Broad third-party integrations
  2. High-scale collaboration, syncing, and permissions
  3. Automation that can cause harm without human review

RESEARCH NOTES

What this tool actually does.

Checked 2026-09-06

Proofling is an AI-powered testimonial collection agent for founders and small SaaS. It connects Stripe or accepts a pasted customer list, then sends automated testimonial requests based on chosen triggers/delays, with one optional follow-up. It captures consent and keeps customer context attached. Responses go to an approval queue: user can publish, keep private, or defer. Approved testimonials can appear on a hosted Wall of Proof or embed on websites. Paid plans add verified-buyer badges, guided video testimonials with automatic captions (up to 100 stored videos), AI-readable proof.json/proof.md exports, and a free tier for five customer asks. Proofling also offers free standalone tools: testimonial request email generator, testimonial/case-study question generators, testimonial card generator, and review-to-testimonial converter.

RESEARCHED BUILD PROMPT

Give this to your coding agent.

Build a self-hosted web app inspired by Proofling's workflow: an automated testimonial collection agent that lets a business import customers via Stripe or CSV, configure a request trigger and delay, and send a personalized testimonial request plus one follow-up. Each customer gets a unique reply link that captures a written quote or optional video upload, records explicit consent, and stores a verified customer reference (e.g., Stripe payment ID or order metadata). Incoming responses appear in an admin approval queue where the owner can approve for public display, keep private, or snooze. Approved items render on a hosted wall page and as an embeddable snippet, with an optional verified-buyer badge. Include proof.json/proof.md exports for AI/search crawlers.

User-facing requirements: dashboard for customer import, trigger/delay settings, request template editor, consent checkbox, approval queue, wall page, embed code generator, export buttons.

Technical requirements: Node.js/Next.js or Django + PostgreSQL, background job scheduler (e.g., Celery/BullMQ) for delayed sends and follow-ups, email delivery via Resend/SES, Stripe API for customer sync and payment verification, S3-compatible storage for videos, a moderation/status state machine, and an API key for the embeddable widget.

Do not copy Proofling's brand, logo, tagline, or exact UI styling. Build a distinctly named utility with your own layout. Out of scope: AI-generated question suggestions, free marketing tools, video captioning, multi-workspace billing, and public discovery feeds. Deliver a README explaining setup (env vars, Stripe webhooks, email provider), architecture overview, and important limitations (no OCR, no automatic moderation, email deliverability).
