Reddit is a community platform organized around subreddits where people publish posts and comments, vote on content, and participate in topic-specific discussions. Volunteer moderators set local rules and can distinguish, remove, or edit moderator submissions; community settings also expose post/comment controls and reports.

Build a focused, single-community discussion board for one interest group. Do not copy Reddit's brand, mascot, proprietary assets, or UI.

Core workflow
- Let invited members create text/link/image posts with title, body, tags, and optional media; show a chronological or manually selected sort, up/down voting, score, threaded comments, permalink pages, and basic full-text search.
- Add a moderator console with community rules, report queue, approve/remove/lock actions, moderator notes, user mute/ban, and an audit log. Show the reason for moderation to the author and retain deleted content only for the documented moderation-retention window.
- Include profiles, saved posts, notification preferences, rate limits, markdown sanitization, accessible pagination, and OG metadata for public post links. Keep ranking transparent and simple.

Implementation and scope
- Use React, a Node/Python API, Postgres with row-level permissions, full-text indexes, object storage for optional media, a queue for notifications, and abuse throttling. Add fixtures for a moderator queue and nested comments.
- Out of scope: a global multi-community network, recommendation/feed-ranking ML, private messaging, awards/ads, federation, mobile apps, and Reddit-scale moderation or traffic infrastructure.
- Use a different product name and original visual system; do not import Reddit data, logos, copy, or historical content.

Include a README with setup, moderation policy, ranking rules, retention/privacy choices, and important limitations.
